At Dogs 180, the health, safety, and well-being of every dog in our care are a priority. This policy outlines the basic health, vaccination, behavior, safety, and client-responsibility requirements that apply to our dog training and pet care services.
Requirements may vary depending on the service being provided, the dog’s individual needs, and the environment in which the service takes place.
Dogs 180 may require current vaccination records before certain training or pet care services begin.
Dogs should remain current on veterinarian-recommended core vaccinations appropriate for their age, health, and lifestyle, including:
Rabies – Required in accordance with applicable North Carolina law and veterinary guidance.
Distemper/Parvovirus (DAPP/DHPP) – Protection against serious contagious diseases including distemper and parvovirus.
Bordetella – May be required for services involving close contact with other dogs, shared environments, extended stays, or other situations where the risk of respiratory illness is increased.
Vaccination requirements may be adjusted when medically appropriate with documentation or guidance from a licensed veterinarian.
Puppies who have not completed their initial vaccination series may have limitations on certain services or environments for their safety.
When vaccination records are required, they must be provided before the applicable service begins.
Clients are responsible for keeping vaccination information current and notifying Dogs 180 of any changes to their dog’s health or vaccination status.
Records may be provided electronically or through another method approved by Dogs 180.
Clients must disclose any known medical conditions, contagious illnesses, injuries, parasites, allergies, medications, dietary restrictions, or other health concerns that could affect the safe care or handling of their dog.
Dogs showing signs of potentially contagious illness may have a service postponed, modified, or canceled until they have recovered or have been cleared by a veterinarian.
Signs of illness may include, but are not limited to:
Persistent coughing
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Unusual lethargy
Fever
Nasal discharge
Unexplained skin conditions
Fleas, ticks, or other parasites
Dogs 180 reserves the right to decline or discontinue a service when a dog’s health condition creates an unreasonable risk to the dog, other animals, staff, or clients.
Clients must provide clear written instructions for any medications or special care their dog requires.
Medications should be provided in their original labeled containers whenever possible.
Dogs 180 must be informed in advance of any medical condition that could reasonably require emergency care, special handling, activity restrictions, or monitoring.
Dogs 180 may decline to administer medications or provide medical care that falls outside the reasonable scope of normal pet care.
Dogs 180 works with dogs of many personalities, temperaments, and behavioral backgrounds. A dog is not automatically excluded from training because of reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression, or a bite history.
However, clients must fully disclose any known:
Aggression toward people or animals
Bite or attempted-bite history
Reactivity
Resource guarding
Escape behavior
Severe fear or anxiety
Handling sensitivities
Other behavior that could affect safety
This information allows Dogs 180 to determine the safest and most appropriate service, training approach, equipment, and handling plan.
Certain services may require a behavioral evaluation before they can begin.
Dogs 180 reserves the right to modify, postpone, or decline a service when a dog’s behavior presents a safety risk that cannot reasonably be managed within that service.
Clients are responsible for providing safe, properly fitted equipment when requested, including collars, harnesses, leashes, crates, or other necessary items.
Dogs 180 may recommend or require different equipment when existing equipment is damaged, improperly fitted, unsafe, or unsuitable for the service being provided.
For safety reasons, Dogs 180 may also use appropriate training or management equipment consistent with the dog’s individual training plan and the service being performed.
For services that require food, treats, medications, equipment, toys, bedding, or other personal items, clients are responsible for providing anything specifically needed for their dog.
Clients should notify Dogs 180 of all known food allergies, dietary restrictions, or sensitivities.
Dogs 180 is not responsible for normal wear, damage, or loss of personal pet items unless caused by negligence.
Valuable or irreplaceable items should not be provided for pet care services.
For dog walking, pet sitting, overnight sitting, or other services performed in the client’s home, clients are responsible for providing safe and reliable access to the property.
Clients must disclose:
Alarm or security-system instructions
Door, gate, or lock concerns
Other animals in the home
Known hazards on the property
Special feeding or medication instructions
Areas that are restricted or off-limits
Emergency contact information
Any other information necessary to safely care for the dog
Dogs must have access to appropriate food, water, medications, equipment, and supplies for the duration of the scheduled service.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that the home and property provide a reasonably safe environment for both the dog and the Dogs 180 team member providing care.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate scheduling information and being available when their participation is required.
For in-home services, appropriate property access must be arranged before the scheduled service.
Dogs 180 should be notified as soon as possible of any changes that could affect a scheduled appointment.
Repeated access problems, missed appointments, or scheduling issues may result in additional charges or discontinuation of service.
Unless otherwise stated for a specific service or training program, cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to cancellation fees or forfeiture of payments or deposits associated with the scheduled service.
Emergencies and unusual circumstances may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Certain training programs, packages, extended-care services, or reserved dates may have separate cancellation, deposit, or refund terms that will be provided at the time of booking.
If a dog becomes ill or injured while under the care of Dogs 180, reasonable efforts will be made to contact the owner or designated emergency contact.
If immediate veterinary attention is reasonably believed to be necessary and the owner cannot be reached, Dogs 180 may seek veterinary care on the owner’s behalf.
The client remains financially responsible for veterinary treatment, transportation, medications, or other emergency expenses incurred for their dog unless otherwise required by law.
Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate information about their dog.
This includes information regarding:
Health and medical history
Vaccination status
Medications
Behavioral concerns
Bite history
Allergies
Feeding instructions
Veterinary information
Emergency contacts
Home-access instructions when applicable
Failure to disclose information that could reasonably affect the safety or care of the dog may result in modification or termination of services.
Dogs 180 is committed to providing thoughtful, responsible care and training based on each dog’s individual needs.
Our goal is to create a safe environment for dogs, their families, and the people providing their care while maintaining clear communication and appropriate expectations for every service.
Dogs 180 reserves the right to update this policy as services, safety practices, legal requirements, or veterinary recommendations change.
If you have questions about whether a particular requirement applies to your dog or service, please contact Dogs 180 before your scheduled appointment.
